Invasive Species – Bohemian Knotweed

Invasive Species - Bohemian Knotweed

Bohemian Knotweed (Fallopia Bohemica) is a hybrid of Japanese Knotweed and Giant Knotweed. Its features are in between those of the parent species.

The leaves are larger than Japanese Knotweed but smaller than Giant Knotweed they can vary in shape from square ended to heart shaped and both variations can appear on the same plant. This plant has the ability to produce male plants and produce viable pollen.

Can grow to 2-3 metres, this hybrid is considered to be more vigorous than either of its parents, it spreads quicker and could potentially be harder to eradicate.
